Eugenia S. Canaan

Author, Editor, Publisher | Founder of CIEL Global

Eugenia Canaan’s life and work span continents, cultures, and callings. Born in Sudan to a Lebanese father and an Italian mother, her early years were shaped by Catholic education and the complex, layered realities of a multicultural world. She later pursued higher education in the United States, where she earned degrees in Economics, Anthropology and social sciences.  She pursued a career in health care administration primarily in academic medicine and nonprofit management. Her professional journey eventually carried her into humanitarian work in South Sudan — where she walked miles to deliver medicine and food during civil war — and later into publishing, driven by a desire to amplify voices across borders.

Eugenia is the founder of CIEL Global and the editor behind many of its titles.  A lifelong storyteller, cultural researcher, and humanitarian, she draws on decades of experience spanning Sudan, the USA, and Greece.  Her work often blends memory, meaning, and the voices of those around her — from family legacies to emerging authors.

Eugenia lives on a Greek mountaintop overseeing the Aegean and believes that some stories are best told in flavor, not faces.  She writes, edits, and publishes exclusively through CIEL Global, guided by a deep commitment to dignity, clarity, and truth-telling.
